RS232 Operator Interface / Machine Control Terminals
Originally known as "Burr-Brown" terminals -
named after our original parent company, Burr-Brown, Inc.
Originally designed by Intelligent Instrumentation's parent company, Burr-Brown, these Operator Interface Terminals (OIT), which have RS-232 or RS-422 interfaces have been in production for decades - some of them up to 30 years or so. We've even redesigned some so that they have the same form and function around which our customers have designed their human interface, but are built with newer electronics.
With this kind of customer investment protection, you know they're going to be around for years to come; your technology investment in controlling your processes are sure to protected over the long haul.
Our broad line of operator interface terminals (CTM Series microterminals) allows you to select a model with just the features you need from a basic operator interface terminal to a multi-function unit for controlling machines and processes. There is such a wide range of choices, that we've put some handy comparison guides here.
Hundreds of plants worldwide use our operator interface terminals in such diverse applications as:
Instrumentation Communications Products Machine Set Up & Control Test & Measurement Process Controllers Inventory Control Food Processing Pharmaceuticals
These OITs/control panel terminals communicate between a human and a machine. Some models can interface directly with machinery - counting items, for instance, or controlling or sensing the opening or closing of a door or access panel.
Our microterminals can be used with your own serial or multi-drop drivers, or use our TM9000 PC-Compatible RS422 Transaction Processor board.
Operator interface terminals use standard connectors, have alternative keypads and displays, can be powered by various common voltage ranges, and have no moving parts to wear out and break. Some are NEMA-12/IP54 drip-proof/dust-proof, and some are rated NEMA-4/IP66 for washdown/spraydown environments. All are tough and dependable.
And since Intelligent Instrumentation designs and manufactures its own operator interface and data collection terminals, you can be sure of the most accurate and timely support through out the lifetime of the terminal.
